


Lucy graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Rhodes University, specializing in printmaking. She recently completed her Masters in Visual Arts (Mphil VA) at Stellenbosch University, specializing in illustration.
In 2012, after completing masters, Lucy took part in an art residency at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, spending a month exploring the city and discovering new ways of playing with collage.
After the residency, Lucy travelled Europe collecting inspiration and the next year was spent building a reputation as a Cape Town based artist and illustrator.
In 2013 Lucy's authored and illustrated a children's book Table Mountain’s Holiday. Table Mountain’s Holiday was selected for the Bologna Children’s Bookfair’s 50th Anniversary Illustrators Exhibition. She was the only Illustrator to have been selected from the African continent that year.
Lucy also started a brand called Lucy-made, under which she makes and sells ceramic brooches and hand bound note/sketchbooks. Lucy-made will be at the Cape Town Design Indaba this month.
